Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Professional to join our Indirect Tax team as an Accountant. As a trusted advisor, you will play a key role in delivering customized tax strategies and minimizing clients' tax liability while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in multiple client-facing engagement teams responsible for GST/HST and other sales tax compliance and planning.
  • Assist in interpreting and demonstrating application of Indirect Tax legislation (GST/HST and PST) on complex tax-related issues.
  • Research new developments in indirect tax, advise on implications of tax and policy changes.
  • Research client issues that arise and refer to various Indirect Tax mandates.
  • Identify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies and discuss with managers or engagement partners to develop resolutions.
  • Correspond with clients and various government agencies to address client tax issues.
  • Assist in the preparation of high-quality deliverables, reports, technical work, and management presentations.
  • Travel to the office (3-4 days a week) and if needed to client sites.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in commerce or business administration (accounting or finance major is preferred).
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn and initiative in team-related complex projects.
  • Experience in leveraging Excel in a working environment for reporting and analysis purposes.
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.
