About the Role:
As a key member of our nursing team, you will work under the guidance of a Registered Nurse and report to the Director of Care. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing high-quality nursing and personal care to residents, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met
- Overseeing daily routines and activities, promoting a safe and supportive environment
- Assisting with medication administration, monitoring residents' health, and reporting any changes or concerns
- Participating in care planning and implementation, collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date resident records, adhering to confidentiality and data protection protocols
- Assisting in the training and development of non-registered nursing staff, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement
- Collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure seamless care delivery, participating in quality assurance activities to drive excellence
- Fostering strong relationships with residents, families, and colleagues, promoting a culture of respect, empathy, and open communication
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- A current Medication Administration Certificate or equivalent
- A Certificate of competency from the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Experience in Long-Term Care, with a strong understanding of gerontology and care coordination principles
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and time management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in computer applications, with experience in electronic medical records and other relevant software
- Registration with a regulatory body, with a strong commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education
