Position:
Loss Prevention Officer

Key Responsibilities:
The Loss Prevention Officer role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in security and investigations who excel in collaborative settings.

Primary Duties Include:
  • Conducting surveillance and investigations at various store locations, while maintaining loss prevention systems.
  • Identifying loss trends and collaborating on strategies to reduce shrinkage.
  • Detecting and apprehending individuals committing theft or other criminal activities against the organization.
  • Securing evidence and preparing reports for potential court proceedings.
  • Handling special tasks such as lock repairs, key management, and staff training.
  • Ensuring the overall safety and security of our retail locations.
Qualifications:
  • We offer a robust in-house training program, and while we are committed to developing our team, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
  • Ability to remain composed and exercise sound judgment in emergency situations.
  • A proven track record of safeguarding individuals and property in a lawful manner.
  • Experience in maintaining confidentiality in sensitive situations.
  • High ethical standards and a commitment to personal and professional integrity.
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal, essential for report writing and court appearances.
  • A valid Class 5 driver's license and access to a vehicle.
  • Willingness to work at various locations as needed.
  • Previous experience in Loss Prevention or related fields within the Criminal Justice system is advantageous.
  • Background in security education, professional certifications, first aid, and emergency response training is beneficial.
  • Training in the use of force and restraining devices is a plus.
  • Possession of a provincial security worker license, or the ability to obtain one prior to employment.
Availability:
Employees must be flexible to work various shifts throughout the week.
