The Opportunity: WSP Canada is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Project Management to join our ERI (Energy, Resources and Industry) division. As a key member of our Major Projects team, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of Project Managers and Directors on complex major projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of Project Managers and Directors on complex major projects
- Foster and manage current projects as well as potential business opportunities with our various clients
- Provide oversight and governance on the various major projects ongoing within the ERI major projects team
- Participate in business development objectives, including proposal reviews, client meetings during bid periods, and contract negotiations
- Define, develop, and document multiple dependent or independent project budgets and schedules
- Approve changes to baseline estimates and new forecasted dates
- Proactively manage deadlines and ensure appropriate communication is provided to relevant parties when schedule and cost conflicts arise
- Assess project resources' capability to accomplish current and future assigned work and initiate actions as required to meet commitments
- Ensure project results meet requirements regarding technical quality, reliability, schedule, cost, and budgeted margins
- Review drawings, budgets, and contractor quotations for cost-optimized contracts and profitability
- Build mutually beneficial internal and external client relationships through the relentless pursuit of excellence
- Build an inclusive, high-performance culture based on respect and support
- Manage diverse stakeholder groups
Requirements:
- Minimum 4-8 years of experience in a Project Management or equivalent role
- Completed formal training in project management, PMP certification preferred
- 4-8 years of previous experience in an EPCM environment in the industrial projects an asset
- Tech designation is an asset
- Bilingual in both English and French is an asset
- A proven track record of completing projects on time and on budget with a high degree of client satisfaction
- Highly proficient in MS Office, including vendor and database software
