At Ontario Camps Association, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Challenge Course Manager to lead our Challenge Course program during the Outdoor Education and Summer seasons.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide training and guidance to Outdoor Education Facilitator Staff in challenge course activities.
- Ensure a safe and enjoyable program for campers and teachers, identifying and mitigating potential safety concerns.
- Design and deliver daily programming that incorporates the challenge by choice philosophy, combining challenge course activities with camper groups.
- Debrief activities and ensure students have a complete learning experience.
- Manage equipment and supplies, maintaining a safe and organized environment.
- Inspect the challenge course prior to each day of use and report any issues to the Director.
- Set a positive example for clients, demonstrating professionalism and a team-oriented work environment.
- Must be at least 18 years of age at the beginning of camp.
- Hold Level 2 certification from a challenge course professional trainer or be willing to obtain through the organization.
- Previous experience working with children of related age groups.
- Current certification in Standard First Aid and CPR C.
- A clear vulnerable sector Criminal Reference Check.
- Experience leading and training others in belaying technique.
