Registered Nurse - Emergency Services at Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital

Key Responsibilities:

Required Qualifications:

  1. Valid Certificate of Registration in the General Class with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  2. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  3. Demonstrated clinical experience in patient-centered care, including proficiency in patient assessment, care planning, education, and documentation.

Additional Skills and Attributes:

  1. Strong interpersonal, listening, and communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively convey information and collaborate with patients, families, and colleagues.
  2. Proven decision-making, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
  3. Capacity to take initiative and adapt to new or unforeseen circumstances.
  4. Commitment to ongoing learning and professional growth.
  5. Knowledge of the Regulated Health Professions Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHMIS, and the Standards of Practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
  2. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  3. Membership in the Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario (RNAO) or Canadian Nurses Association (CNA).
  4. 2 to 3 years of experience in acute nursing.
  5. 1 year of experience in Emergency, Critical Care, or Telemetry settings.
  6. Completion of Coronary Care Course 1 preferred or willingness to complete within one year of hire.
  7. Completion of Coronary Care Course 2.
  8. PALS certification preferred or commitment to complete within one year of hire.
  9. Crisis Prevention Intervention course preferred or equivalent training.
  10. TNCC, ENPC, or Triage Certification.
  11. Experience with electronic medical records.
