About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Archaeologist to join our team at FortisBC. As a key member of our Environmental Management team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the protection and preservation of our province's cultural heritage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with project managers and planners to identify and mitigate heritage and archaeological risks.
  • Develop and implement effective heritage resource management strategies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external regulatory agencies.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in anthropology or archaeology, plus five years of experience working as an archaeologist in B.C.
  • Certification as a Professional Member of the British Columbia Association of Professional Archaeologists (BCAPA) and a B.C. Heritage Conservation Act Permit holder.
  • Strong understanding of the B.C. Heritage Conservation Act and familiarity with the Archaeology Branch and BC Energy Regulator Heritage Processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite of tools and GIS mapping systems.
