KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The ideal candidate will assist in various aspects of production, including the feeding and overall care of swine, ensuring herd health and optimal living conditions, performing pressure washing and room preparation, as well as undertaking general maintenance, cleaning, and administrative tasks such as maintaining door charts, tracking inventory, and ordering feed and medications. This role requires collaboration within a team to achieve specific production objectives while adhering to health and safety regulations and following Maple Leaf Foods Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) regarding the humane treatment of animals.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EDUCATION:
Eagerness and capability to learn; strong teamwork and interpersonal abilities Self-driven with the capacity to work autonomously with minimal oversight Positive work ethic and attitude, with a keen attention to detail Proficient oral and written communication skills Ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple priorities and complex tasks simultaneously Capability to lift 25kg A valid driver's license and the ability to commute to a rural work location is essential Availability for weekend, holiday shifts, and alarm response on a rotational basis Experience in hog production is considered advantageous
