General Manager Job Description

The Second City Works, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled General Manager to lead and manage all aspects of our Toronto business. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving revenue performance, growth, and service excellence for our entertainment, theater, and hospitality operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • P&L Responsibility: Oversee the financial performance of our Toronto operations, including payroll, cash and receipts, productivity, food costs, and operating expenses.
  • Theatre Operations: Manage all aspects of our theatre operations, including scheduling, workforce management, and customer experience.
  • Marketing Strategy: Develop and execute a marketing strategy to drive awareness and deliver on all sales, revenue, and brand KPIs.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage multiple teams across multiple business streams, including customer services, audience services, marketing, and artistic direction.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial reports and develop strategic plans to improve areas of need.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience driving revenue performance, growth, and service excellence for well-established entertainment, theater, hospitality, and/or sports organizations.
  • Operational experience designing and improving processes that result in reduced costs, a higher quality customer experience, and greater yield.
  • Record of accomplishment in creating and executing robust business growth strategies.
  • Resilience and good professional judgment.
  • Experience and capability to lead multiple teams across multiple business streams simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
