About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Automotive Technician to join our team at Tom Smith Chevrolet Buick GMC Limited. As an Automotive Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing complex issues with commercial transport trucks and automotive systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and Repair Issues: Use your expertise to identify and fix problems with truck systems, including engine repair, electrical and electronic systems, and brake systems.
  • Perform Scheduled Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance services to ensure vehicles are running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Test and Adjust Systems: Use specialized equipment to test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications.
  • Estimate Costs and Provide Quotes: Accurately estimate parts and labor costs for vehicle maintenance and repairs.
  • Provide Excellent Customer Service: Communicate effectively with customers to explain work performed and future repair requirements.
  • Coach and Train Apprentices: Share your knowledge and expertise with apprentices to help them develop their skills.
Requirements
  • Education: Other trades certificate or diploma.
  • Experience: 5 years or more of experience in the field, or equivalent experience.
  • Language: English.
  • Valid Driver's Licence: Required.
  • Steel-Toed Safety Boots: Required.
