Candidate Profile

Join our team at the CIUSSS Center-West of the Island of Montreal as a Human Relations Specialist.

You will collaborate with a skilled and dedicated team in a dynamic work setting where you can grow professionally and contribute your insights to foster departmental development.

Your Responsibilities as a Human Relations Specialist:

  • Engage with children, adolescents, their families, and alternative living environments to assist them in adopting more suitable behaviors;
  • Support young individuals facing behavioral challenges, those who have experienced neglect, abandonment, or various forms of abuse;
  • Effectively implement clinical guidelines to safeguard and assist children whose safety and development may be at risk;
  • Provide support to youth under 18 in their growth, well-being, and safety, including intervention with juvenile offenders and involvement in adoption and guardianship matters.

Your Key Challenges:
1. Youth Protection Directorate - Evaluation and Referral

  • Conduct assessments of reported cases to determine if a child's safety or development is compromised;
  • Establish the legal framework and necessary protective measures for the child;
  • Ensure the execution of urgent measures;
  • Prepare evaluation and referral documentation;
  • Foster essential collaborations with both internal and external partners.

2. Youth Program Directorate - Implementation of Measures

  • Meet with parents and children under protective services;
  • Oversee visitations between parents and children;
  • Draft various reports (case progress, closure, and court documentation).

Qualifications:

  • Membership in the Order of Social Workers and Marital and Family Therapists of Quebec, the Order of Psychoeducators of Quebec, or the Order of Criminologists of Quebec.
