Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Welding Production Associate to join our team at Johnson Controls. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for the fabrication of custom prototypes, production parts, and metal structures using various welding processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read, interpret, and review blueprints or welding process specifications to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using various processes, including MIG, ARC, and TIG welding.
  • Operate brazing, soldering, and manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment as needed.
  • Repair parts of metal products by welding on extra layers and conduct technical inspections, repairs, modifications, and retrofits.
  • Monitor parts usage and report on any material issues to ensure efficient production.
  • Ensure accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects, and maintain detailed and accurate reports and documentation.
Requirements
  • Registered as an apprentice welder in Alberta and enrolled in a recognized trade school.
  • Working towards Interprovincial Red Seal or CWB tickets.
  • Valid welding certification, Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), certified in all positions.
  • Ability to work under the supervision of journeyman electricians, as part of a team, and independently in a busy environment.
  • Experience with routine maintenance operations and strong attention to detail.
Working Conditions

This is a year-round, in-town position that requires physical ability to lift up to 50lb. Overtime may be required, and the successful candidate must adhere to safety policies and wear protective equipment.
