The successful candidate will serve as the Chair in International Health for the initial three years, with potential for renewal. The internal research Chair of International Health has been established in partnership with the Ukrainian Resource and Development Centre at MacEwan University.

We are looking for a candidate with an active research program grounded in international health research, with a focus on Ukraine and Eastern Europe. The successful candidate will contribute to building a strong culture of research and scholarship within the Faculty of Nursing, across MacEwan, and with key external collaborators and stakeholders locally, nationally, and internationally.

The Chair in International Health is expected to:

  • Lead multidisciplinary/multisectoral research projects and initiatives to advance knowledge in health equity pertinent to Ukraine and Eastern Europe;
  • Mobilize and disseminate knowledge by facilitating partnerships with health organizations and international partners;
  • Enhance student engagement and involvement in the area of international health.

The applicant will hold a graduate degree in nursing or a related field, with doctoral preparation preferred. Candidates will have notable nursing education experience, current active licensure with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA), and expertise in a specific area of international health. A developed program of related research is required, along with a demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships with international partners and collaborators.

Applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, teaching dossier (including recent teaching evaluations), as well as a research dossier (with sample(s) of scholarly work which highlight how they meet the Chair in International Health criteria). Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted by the Department Chair and asked to provide three (3) letters of reference sent directly from referees and copies of official transcripts sent directly from the institutions where degrees have been completed.
