Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our dynamic team in the Oncology-Palliative Unit at North York General Hospital. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide exceptional patient and family-centered care, collaborating with healthcare professionals to assess, educate, and support patients in their journey towards recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with cancer and palliative needs, prioritizing their physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring seamless transitions and continuity of care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals, utilizing strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills to address complex care needs.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices that enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research, best practices, and regulatory requirements, applying this knowledge to improve patient care and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Registered Practical Nursing diploma from a recognized Community College.
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current Medication Certificate.
  • One year recent experience in Medicine/General Surgery, preferred.
  • Oncology/palliative care experience preferred.
  • Bilingualism in French/English and asset.
