Position Overview:
The role of the Business Transformation Architect involves a range of responsibilities aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and aligning technology solutions with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
· Engage in collaborative discussions with project teams, corporate stakeholders, and technical groups in both English and French.
· Assess and refine existing costing methodologies to ensure alignment with the evolving requirements of the business transformation strategy.
· Collaborate with engineers specializing in fibre optic and MPLS technologies to develop comprehensive Bills of Materials (BoMs) for various technical initiatives.
· Continuously analyze and cost the different provider-based networks, including IXP, CXP, ISP, and WAN.
· Evaluate alternative technological solutions to address business challenges effectively.
· Work closely with project teams and corporate stakeholders to draft, review, and manage significant Treasury Board submissions.
· Ensure the seamless integration of all technological solutions.
· Collaborate with other costing teams within the organization.
· Create data model-driven costing methodologies that utilize data from multiple enterprise systems to generate accurate costing forecasts.
· Assess complex Bills of Materials for both fibre optic and MPLS infrastructures and translate them into precise costing estimates.
· Ensure that the network solutions developed adhere to industry standards and align with governmental and industry technology directions.
· Provide insightful input and recommendations to project teams.
· Participate in change impact analysis and engage in the relevant change management and incident management processes.
· Offer expert support and solutions for intricate network issues.
· Assist in implementation activities while adhering to standard documentation practices for post-implementation support.
· Collaborate with project resources to gather and review pertinent information from various technical stakeholders, including IT solution providers and support service teams.
· Work with project resources to achieve consensus on network design issues and Detailed Design Specifications.
· Partner with stakeholders to identify technical challenges related to end-to-end IT solutions.
· Attend workshops with clients, industry experts, and vendors to define and document appropriate recommendations.
· Collaborate with other teams to provide Enterprise Network design support throughout the project lifecycle.
· Identify gaps in target designs and formulate recommendations for improvement.
· Recognize network design risks and issues, providing potential mitigation strategies to the project team.
· Prepare and deliver presentations to clients, management, and other stakeholders as necessary.
Qualifications:
A minimum of a three-year college diploma in computer science or a related IT field; OR
a university degree at the Bachelor level in Information Technology (computer science or engineering) or a related IT field; OR
A minimum of ten years of work experience in the IT field within the last 15 years, demonstrating proficiency in tasks similar to those outlined in the Statement of Work.
Candidates must also possess a business architecture certificate from a recognized institution and have experience in planning and implementing complex Wide Area Network and Dark Fiber MAN based network environments.
A Security Clearance at the Secret level is required, as specified by the Technical Authority.
