Job Summary:

Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) is seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our Float Pool team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to select Alternate Level of Care (ALC) patients in our newly-opened IOOF Short Term Transitional Care Unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, coordinate, and manage care of ALC patients and families in conjunction with an interdisciplinary team.
  • Provide quality patient care within a delivery model in accordance with RVH's organizational philosophy, policies, and standards of care.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and transitions.
  • Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Registered Practical Nursing Diploma or equivalent education to practice at full scope.
  • Completion of recognized Medication Administration Course.
  • Current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current BCLS.
  • Sound knowledge of nursing process and responsibilities of profession.
  • Membership in professional association specific to nursing service area.
  • Functions independently within scope of practice.
  • Computer literacy in current software applications.

  • Sound problem-solving, communication (oral and written), conflict resolution, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the professional growth and development of self and others.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the concepts of Continuous Quality Improvement and Customer Service.
  • Ability to learn about, from, and with other members of the patient care team to foster a strong interprofessional model of care.
