Job Title: Distribution Journeymen Powerline Technician and Apprentice

Valard Construction LP is seeking highly skilled and motivated individuals to join our team as Distribution Journeymen Powerline Technicians and Apprentices in Edmonton. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and constructing distribution lines, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of electricity to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and repair distribution lines, including climbing wood pole structures and operating heavy equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure the integrity of the distribution system.
  • Collaborate with other team members to complete projects and meet deadlines.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of electrical systems and safety protocols.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date with industry best practices.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Red Seal Journeymen Powerline Technician certification.
  • Class 5 license minimum, with preference given to 1 & 3 license.
  • Experience in climbing wood pole structures and operating heavy equipment.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Experience working on ATCO and Fortis utility systems.
  • Working at Heights certification.
  • Familiarity with operating and maintaining various types of heavy equipment.
