Position Summary

We are currently seeking a proficient Senior Cost Accountant to oversee the accurate assessment of cost of goods sold (COGS) and inventory valuation. This role will be pivotal in refining costing methodologies and ensuring efficient operational workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct monthly closing activities, which include preparing journal entries, performing reconciliations, and executing variance analyses.
  • Lead the development and implementation of accounting processes from inception.
  • Collaborate with operational, production, and engineering teams to guarantee timely and precise reporting.
  • Examine manufacturing cost discrepancies and devise strategies to mitigate future variances.
  • Manage standard costing practices, providing support and guidance on intricate issues.
  • Enhance process efficiencies and adopt best practices to improve product costing accuracy.
  • Ensure precise inventory valuation, strengthen internal controls, and implement necessary enhancements.
  • Assist the Finance Director with various special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business with a focus on Accounting.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • CPA/CPA Eligibility is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining standard costing systems, overhead allocation methods, and inventory reconciliation processes.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/MRP systems.
