About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Part Time Case Worker to join our team at the Brantford Booth Centre. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting men who require transitional housing and federal release programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain an active caseload and provide problem-solving and referral counseling to shelter and CRF clients.
  • Develop and implement an interview schedule to evaluate the quality of life improvement of successful program participants.
  • Provide assistance to front desk personnel as needed, including responding to client issues and crises.
  • Record activities and incidents occurring during the shift in a factual and concise manner.
  • Contact emergency service personnel when necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality with regard to clients and Centre's records.
  • Work closely with and carry out tasks assigned by your supervisor.
Working Conditions

This is a permanent, part-time position with 15 hours per week. Flexibility in scheduling is required, and the work schedule is determined in consultation with your supervisor.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • University/College diploma in Social Service and/or combination of education and related life experience.
  • Possess current First Aid, CPR, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certificates.
Experience and Knowledge
  • Demonstrates knowledge of community-based resources.
Skills and Capabilities
  • Competent on word processing equipment, such as Windows XP, Microsoft Office, Excel.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with socially disadvantaged people who may often harbor resentment and anger.
  • Ability to work with federal release clients to develop and carry out a life plan.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and implement goals and plans for self and clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and under supervision.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to forty pounds.
  • Ability to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully.
