As an agency of the Government of Ontario, we manage GO Transit, UP Express, and the PRESTO fare payment system, while also spearheading significant transit developments including GO Expansion and Light Rail Transit routes.

Position Summary: Our Station Operations West Region Office is looking for an HVAC Technician on a Contract Full-Time basis. This role is essential for ensuring that Metrolinx Transit facilities, plant equipment, and HVAC systems are operated and maintained safely and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections, installations, operations, preventive maintenance, and repairs of HVAC systems, boilers, and mechanical controls.
  • Maintain automated climate control systems within buildings.
  • Assist industrial mechanics and electricians with the maintenance and installation of process equipment.
  • Provide guidance to Plant Mechanics and Servicepersons during maintenance and repairs of HVAC systems.
  • Document inspections, work completed, deficiencies, and material usage for supervisory review.
  • Implement emergency measures in response to environmental incidents.

Work Schedule:

Base Location: Wolfedale

Working Days: Monday to Friday

Shift Hours: 07:00 - 15:00

Days Off: Saturday and Sunday

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in operating and maintaining gas-fired and refrigeration equipment in an industrial setting.
  • Possession of a Journeyman's License as Gas Technician 1 (G1) and as a Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic #313A.
  • A valid Ontario Class 'G' driver's license with a good driving record.
