Job Overview

Role Summary

Reporting to the Associate Director of Enterprise Application Support, the IT Application Services Leader is a senior technical and people management position responsible for overseeing the comprehensive performance of IT Services. This role is accountable to business user groups for the effectiveness of IT applications and services, ensuring that tasks are executed efficiently. Responsibilities encompass asset lifecycle management, vendor relations, incident and request handling, as well as application maintenance and development projects. This position offers technical guidance, mentorship, and leadership to a team that includes Business Systems Analysts, Billing Analysts, and EAS Technicians.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with various Business Groups to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively.
  • Translate corporate and departmental objectives into actionable work deliverables.
  • Ensure that work assignments and operational routines are completed to meet customer expectations.
  • Manage the overall availability and performance of services while prioritizing service enhancement initiatives.
  • Oversee Incident Management during application outages or cross-application issues as necessary.
  • Contribute expertise and resources to support project implementation.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and leadership to staff and project teams as required.
  • Assist in achieving budgetary targets related to expenses.
  • Lead a team of direct reports, fulfilling all leadership responsibilities including performance monitoring, recruitment, coaching, corrective actions, performance improvement plans, and attendance management.
  • Undertake additional duties as needed in operations, support, and application change initiatives.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • A degree in Computer Science or a related field with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, or a diploma in Computer Science or a related field with at least seven (7) years of relevant experience.
  • At least three years of experience in application support and development, preferably with a focus on enterprise applications within the IT or telecommunications sectors.
  • Proven leadership experience in a direct or indirect capacity is essential.
  • Strong project management, analytical, communication, and organizational skills are required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in at least one of the following technical areas:
  • Familiarity with relational databases such as Oracle and MSSQL.
  • Proficiency with Windows Office 365.
