We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced District Resource Teacher - Inclusive Learning Specialist to join our team at School District #38 (Richmond). This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students with diverse abilities and learning needs.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will provide collaboration, consultation, and direct support to school teams to ensure that students with disabilities and diverse abilities receive the support they need to succeed. This will involve working closely with teachers, education assistants, and administrators to design and implement individualized educational programs that meet the unique needs of each student.

The District Resource Teacher - Inclusive Learning Specialist will also be responsible for providing professional development opportunities for teachers and education assistants, as well as supporting the development of inclusive learning environments in schools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide consultation and support to school teams to develop and implement individualized educational programs for students with disabilities and diverse abilities
  • Design and deliver professional development opportunities for teachers and education assistants on inclusive learning practices
  • Support the development of inclusive learning environments in schools
  • Collaborate with administrators, teachers, and education assistants to ensure that students with disabilities and diverse abilities receive the support they need to succeed
Qualifications:
  • Valid B.C. Teaching Certificate
  • Fully qualified and experienced Learning Resource teacher, with demonstrated competencies in addressing a wide range of student needs
  • Graduate Level course work in Special Education and recent Resource teacher experience is an asset
