About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Junior Structural Engineer to join our team at ASPECT Structural Engineers. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and leading projects, working closely with our passionate and talented team to deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed structural design under the mentorship of senior engineers.
  • Participate in delivering small to medium-sized projects throughout all design and construction phases.
  • Be involved in ongoing communication and coordination with other design consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Have sound knowledge of codes and standards within the area of design responsibilities.
  • Deliver project deliverables on time and on budget.
  • Build positive relationships with clients and help promote our core values.
  • Contribute to the team's technical knowledge resources.
  • Be creative and innovative in problem-solving.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members, including BIM technicians.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, with a minimum of 2-3+ years of local experience in structural design.
  • Well-rounded knowledge and experience designing with wood frame, steel, and concrete. Experience with mass timber is an asset but is not required.
  • Working towards a P.Eng. designation registered in BC.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to use programs such as RFEM, S-Concrete, Sizer, or other similar structural analysis software.
