Position Overview:

The IT Change Management Specialist is tasked with overseeing the change control framework, ensuring that all modifications are accurate, thorough, and compliant with established standards. This position plays a crucial role in facilitating Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings, communicating results, and conducting Production Defect Reviews (PDR) for any unsuccessful changes. The specialist will ensure that customer agreements and business group compliance requirements are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities:

Change Management:

  • Scrutinize changes for precision, thoroughness, and adherence to compliance.
  • Coordinate the change management process, including scheduling and leading CAB meetings.
  • Prepare agendas for CAB meetings and generate Change Management reports and metrics.
  • Relay outcomes of CAB and Change Management activities to relevant stakeholders.
  • Engage and manage stakeholder involvement in Change Management, including internal and external customers and vendors.
  • Foster an environment conducive to open discussions regarding CAB and Change Management to align outcomes with best practices.
  • Establish success metrics and performance indicators for Change Management and Disaster Recovery initiatives.
  • Provide training on Change Management processes and tools.
  • Maintain and enhance Change Management template resources.
  • Follow up on Emergency Changes to ensure proper categorization.
  • Participate in monthly Change Review and Validation meetings with IT and PMO.
  • Regularly update the Change Management Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Support Project Management and IS Teams in crafting change management strategies for projects.
  • Validate and support any changes related to Change Management tools.
  • Engage in internal and external audits as necessary.

Release Management:

  • Participate in planning sessions for implementation.
  • Ensure that Release Implementation plans are complete and accurate.
  • Communicate results of Releases to stakeholders.
  • Maintain and improve Release Management template resources.

Business Continuity:

  • Lead the development of Business Continuity plans and Disaster Recovery strategies for critical business systems.
  • Offer recommendations to mitigate risks and develop strategies to prevent business interruptions.
  • Organize and conduct regular testing exercises to validate recovery and contingency plans.
  • Manage IT recovery efforts during actual events, coordinating with teams across the organization.
  • Oversee the Business Continuity risk analysis process and provide updates to the Business Resiliency Program.
  • Develop and maintain all related policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Establish performance targets for IT recovery and ensure monitoring systems are in place.
  • Provide training on Disaster Recovery management and Business Continuity best practices.

Qualifications:

  • A degree or diploma in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, or Change Management.
  • Relevant certifications in Business Continuity or Disaster Recovery.
  • ITIL foundation certification is essential.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in Business Impact Assessments and Risk Impact Assessments.
  • Familiarity with Emergency Notification Tools and SharePoint.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Strong organizational skills and effective communication abilities.
  • Capacity to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to collaborate with various departments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work outside standard hours when necessary.
