Job Title: Long Haul Truck Driver

Clear Advantage Transportation Ltd is seeking a skilled Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team. As a Long Haul Truck Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials across the country, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
  • Load and unload goods
  • Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes
  • Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
  • Perform brake adjustments
  • Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
  • Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
  • Transport and handle dangerous goods
Credentials:
  • Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks)
  • Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate
Experience and Specialization:
  • Type of trucking and equipment: Tractor-trailer
  • Communication systems experience: Citizens band (CB) radio, Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment, Trip recorder (on-board computer)
  • Transportation/travel experience: Long-haul
Additional Information:
  • Security and safety: Driver's validity licence check
  • Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail, Handling heavy loads, Large workload, Physically demanding, Sitting
