AutoCanada is seeking a qualified Automotive Service Technician - Red Seal to join our dynamic team.

Position Summary:

As an Automotive Service Technician, you will be integral to enhancing the customer experience by performing diagnostic assessments to identify vehicle maintenance needs and delivering precise repair suggestions to our clientele.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute vehicle repairs and maintenance tasks as specified on the repair order, ensuring efficiency and adherence to dealership and OEM standards.
  • Maintain regular communication with Parts and Service Advisors to effectively oversee production, repair timelines, and customer interactions.
  • Conduct thorough multi-point inspections to provide suitable repair recommendations, ensuring the safety and dependability of vehicles prior to customer return.
  • Accurately document all services performed on the vehicle repair order, creating a detailed narrative that aligns with OEM standards to facilitate warranty work payment.
  • Manage an inventory of essential automotive technician tools not typically provided by the Service department.
  • Stay updated on factory technical bulletins and engage in factory-sponsored training sessions as necessary.
  • Deliver an outstanding repair experience to foster customer loyalty and enhance departmental revenue.

Qualifications:

  • A provincially recognized Red Seal Journeyman's certificate, either completed or in progress, is essential.
  • Completion of a relevant post-secondary program or training courses.
  • Professional demeanor complemented by a strong work ethic.
  • Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in operating electronic diagnostic tools.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • High integrity and a strong work ethic.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Working Conditions:

  • Indoor and outdoor shop environment with exposure to varying temperatures and physically demanding tasks.
  • Regular exposure to fumes, dust, dirt, oil, grease, and noise from equipment operation.
  • Operate machinery and motorized equipment, including vehicles with both automatic and manual transmissions.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Manipulate hands and fingers to operate specialized tools and equipment.
  • Reach overhead and horizontally to position materials and equipment.
  • Occasionally bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, turn, and twist to access various vehicle components for repair.
  • Occasionally transport boxes and other equipment necessary for repairs.
  • Maintain clarity of vision at varying distances and color shades for diagnostic instruments and manuals.
  • Communicate effectively in verbal, auditory, and written forms.
