**Job Summary**

The Government of Northwest Territories is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Relief Registered Nurse, Extended Care and Long-Term Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional nursing care to residents of extended care and long-term care houses within the Yellowknife Region.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Provide nursing care to residents in accordance with established standards of nursing practice and the philosophy and objectives of the Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA).
  • Work on a rotational 12-hour shift schedule, providing care to residents in conjunction with an LPN and/or Nursing Aide.
  • Exercise critical thinking and sound decision-making skills to ensure the physical, emotional, psycho-social, spiritual, and daily living needs of residents are met.
  • Triage residents who need to see a physician during their weekly visit and make decisions on whether to phone a physician outside of their visit.

**Requirements:**

  • A Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Experience in a Long-Term Care facility is considered an asset.
