Job Title: Construction Estimator

We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team at Covertite Eastern Ltd. As a key member of our estimating department, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed estimates for construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Estimate Preparation: Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs, taking into account various factors such as project scope, timelines, and budget constraints.
  • Blueprint Analysis: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements and ensure that estimates are accurate and comprehensive.
  • Estimate Reporting: Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets, and bid forms to stakeholders, highlighting key project details and costs.
  • Communication: Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors to discuss changes and adjustments to cost estimates, ensuring that all parties are informed and aligned.
  • Supply and Contractor Management: Maintain a directory of supplies and trade contractors, ensuring that estimates are accurate and up-to-date.
Requirements:
  • Education: College/CEGEP degree in a relevant field, such as construction management or engineering.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in construction estimating, with a strong understanding of estimating procedures and software.
  • Language: Fluency in English, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Work Hours: 44 hours per week, with flexibility to work overtime as required.
