Position Overview: Aircraft Paint Specialist

Work Environment:

ITPS is a premier test pilot school leveraging advanced technology and innovative teaching methods to train elite pilots and flight test experts globally. Our teaching tools are the aircraft themselves, featuring a diverse fleet of 20 aircraft across more than 10 types, including military jet trainers, single and twin-piston aircraft, large amphibious models, and various helicopters and simulators.

The ITPS team is dedicated to the continuous maintenance and enhancement of this fleet, ensuring our curriculum remains at the cutting edge of technology and flight-testing methodologies. Our modification projects vary from minor avionics upgrades to comprehensive aircraft data sensor installations and significant modifications that influence the operational and flying characteristics of the aircraft. The atmosphere is hands-on and collaborative, with a focus on practical, multi-disciplinary work tailored for specialized missions.

Candidate Profile:

We seek a talented and committed Aircraft Paint Specialist who values precision and quality. Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare aircraft surfaces for painting, which includes cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming.
  • Apply paint and coatings to aircraft utilizing various techniques such as spraying, brushing, and rolling, ensuring a superior finish.
  • Mix and match paints according to specifications, ensuring consistency in color and texture.
  • Inspect completed work for quality and compliance with specifications, making necessary adjustments or corrections as required.
  • Collaborate with team members to coordinate painting schedules and ensure timely project completion.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols and environmental regulations.
  • Document work processes and materials used, maintaining accurate records for each project.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in automotive painting, with knowledge of various painting techniques and tools.
  • Familiarity with aircraft painting processes and materials is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Good physical stamina and the ability to work in various positions, including standing, bending, and lifting.
  • Understanding of safety protocols and the ability to adhere to them diligently.
  • Willingness to work on a contract basis, with the potential for extension based on project requirements.
  • Experience with painting military jet trainers or similar aircraft is a plus.
