Provincial Medical Genetics Program

Full-Time Opportunity

Vancouver, BC

The BC Women's Hospital & Health Centre, in collaboration with the University of British Columbia (UBC) Department of Medical Genetics, is seeking applications for a Clinical Geneticist role within the Provincial Medical Genetics Program, which includes a faculty appointment at UBC.

The Provincial Medical Genetics Program offers comprehensive genetic services throughout British Columbia, maintaining a strong reputation for excellence in clinical care, education, and research. This program is involved in a fully-accredited Royal College Residency Training Program in Medical Genetics and Genomics, as well as fellowship training through the Canadian College of Medical Geneticists. The clinical practice encompasses various areas including prenatal genetic evaluation and counseling, dysmorphology, pediatric genetic assessments, and adult clinical genetics. In addition to regular clinic hours, the Clinical Geneticist will be required to provide on-call services and participate in outreach clinics. Furthermore, the Clinical Geneticist will engage in academic teaching and training activities at the University of British Columbia and will have opportunities to participate in or collaborate on medical genetics and genomics research initiatives. Compensation and faculty appointment will be aligned with the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Candidates must possess an equivalent degree and should hold or be eligible for permanent licensure in British Columbia, along with specialist certification in medical genetics from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Eligibility for an appointment at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor or higher at UBC is also required. Candidates with comparable training and certification from other countries will also be considered.

Applications should include a detailed curriculum vitae and the names of three references.
