Preferred Education and Experience: A minimum of two years of clinical experience is required, with at least one year in an outpatient environment being highly desirable.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications: Candidates must obtain CPR certification within three months of employment and possess current licensure in Florida.
Summary/Objective: Physical therapists play a crucial role in assisting individuals with physical injuries or illnesses to regain their range of motion and manage pain effectively. They work with patients who have experienced loss of motor function due to various factors, including accidents, illnesses, or aging. The role involves identifying the underlying causes of physical trauma, providing guidance to patients, and collaborating to develop tailored rehabilitation plans.
Essential Functions:
1. Conduct thorough evaluations of patients to gather necessary data for effective treatment planning.
2. Administer physical therapy interventions in accordance with the established Plan of Care and physician directives.
3. Ensure timely and accurate documentation in compliance with departmental standards.
4. Supervise and foster the professional growth of licensed physical therapist assistants, rehabilitation technicians, interns, and volunteers.
5. Organize a daily schedule that optimizes departmental efficiency while ensuring high-quality patient care.
6. Maintain open and effective communication with patients, their families, physicians, and colleagues.
7. Engage in educational and professional development activities that enhance personal skills, benefit co-workers, and improve patient care outcomes.
