Interventional Radiology Nurse

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Fraser Health Authority in the Interventional Radiology department. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with physicians and technologists to perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic imaging and interventional procedures
- Assess patient health status, identify priorities, and develop care plans
- Assist radiologists during procedures, including setup of equipment and administration of medications
- Perform a variety of health care interventions, including IV therapy and administration of blood products
- Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and families, providing emotional support and education
- Anticipate and respond to critical situations, including cardiac arrest
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and resolve issues
- Document patient information and maintain accurate records
Qualifications
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives
- Completion of a recognized high acuity specialty nursing certificate and one year of recent related interventional medical imaging experience
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate
Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated ability in nursing practice within an angiographic and/or interventional medical imaging setting
- Ability to assess patient responses and respond appropriately
- Ability to plan and implement care plans
- Ability to work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff
