Interventional Radiology Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in the Medical Imaging Department at Fraser Health. As an Interventional Radiology Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional procedures in the Medical Imaging Department.
- Assess and monitor patients' physical and psycho-social needs, identifying problems and developing plans to address them.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers and team members to ensure seamless care and optimal patient outcomes.
- Administer medications, including blood products and oxygen therapy, as required.
- Perform a variety of health care interventions, including scrubbing and circulating duties, and assist with procedural sedation and general anesthesia.
- Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and their families, providing emotional support and education on specific procedures and post-procedure care.
- Anticipate and respond to unexpected critical situations, including cardiac arrest, and initiate cardiopulmonary resuscitation and/or administer appropriate medication as needed.
- Document patient/family perspectives, nursing observations, and activities that support patient/family priorities.
- Maintain complete and accurate computerized and paper records, using appropriate supplies and equipment for patient care.
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Completion of a recognized high acuity specialty nursing certificate and one year of recent related interventional medical imaging experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate.
