**Job Summary**

The Dietary Aide plays a critical role in our community, impacting the lives of residents and fostering a sense of warmth and connection.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Adhere to proper food handling techniques to ensure a safe and healthy environment for residents.
  • Accurately date, label, and store food to maintain optimal freshness and quality.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, completing scheduled cleaning duties to prevent cross-contamination and maintain a high level of sanitation.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of floors in food preparation, dish room, and storage areas, adhering to infection control and quality management standards.
  • Support the delivery of exceptional food service, meeting the needs of residents while adhering to legislative requirements and organizational standards.
  • Assist in meal preparation, serving, and beverage distribution, following residents' dietary needs and preferences.
  • Take orders from residents, utilizing their names and preferences to ensure accurate service.
  • Set and clear tables in dining rooms, washing and sanitizing tables, chairs, and serveries to maintain a clean and inviting atmosphere.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the team and enhance the resident experience.

**Requirements**

  • A valid Safe Food Handler's Certificate is required.
  • Previous experience in food service, preferably in an institutional, healthcare, restaurant, or hospitality setting.
  • Effective verbal and written English communication skills are essential.

**Preferred Qualifications**

  • A Food Service Worker Certificate or enrollment in a program is an asset.
  • Applicants must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check (Ontario applicants) or a Criminal Records Check (British Columbia applicants).
