**Job Title:** Casual/on-call Indigenous Support Workers

**Job Summary:**

School District #22 (Vernon) is currently seeking qualified individuals to fill casual/on-call Indigenous Support Worker positions. As an Indigenous Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing academic, cultural, and social-emotional support to Indigenous students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide academic support to Indigenous students, including homework assistance and test preparation.
  • Offer cultural support, including facilitating cultural events and activities that promote Indigenous awareness and understanding.
  • Provide social-emotional support, including counseling and mentoring to Indigenous students.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to develop and implement strategies to support Indigenous student success.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in Indigenous education and support.

Requirements:

  • Education Assistant certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience working with Indigenous students and communities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.
