Job Title: Middle and Secondary School Counsellor
Company: School District #23 (Central Okanagan)

We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic professional educators to fill a Middle and Secondary School Counsellor position. This is a full year, full time, and part time temporary contract opportunity.

Requirements:
  • A professional teaching certificate
  • A minimum of two years of successful classroom teaching experience
  • A master's degree recognized by the Teacher Regulation Branch in counselling psychology (or a related discipline with a focus in counselling)
  • Training and/or experience as a Middle and Secondary School Counsellor as per School District Policy #510 and #510R
Key Responsibilities:
  • Work in a collaborative/team environment to implement BC's Education Plan and the Redesigned Curriculum
  • Participate in the implementation of the school level Collaborative Model of Support and the district Strategic Plan
  • Use technology for planning, attendance monitoring, communication, classroom instruction, and reporting purposes
  • Work positively towards the fulfillment of the School and District goals
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Both training and experience as a School Counsellor
  • Experience with grades 7-12 age groupings
  • Indigenous ancestry (as per Special Program with the BC Human Rights Tribunal)
