About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Baker and Production Manager to join our team at Port Union Bakery. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our bakery, ensuring high-quality products are produced efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Product Preparation: Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders.
  • Staff Training: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
  • Production Scheduling: Draw up production schedules to ensure efficient use of resources and meet customer demand.
  • Machinery Operation: Operate machinery to prepare and package products.
  • Inventory Management: Organize and maintain inventory to ensure timely restocking and minimize waste.
  • Customer Service: Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a bakery or related field.
  • Work Setting: Bake shop, large volume bakery, or café.
