Job Summary

We are seeking an organized and motivated individual to join our dynamic team as an Accounting Analyst for our Brampton, ON office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Analysis: Gather, organize, and analyze data to identify areas of opportunity and support business decisions.
  • Financial Analysis: Use statistical and analytical techniques to analyze AP, AR, and accounting data, including identifying trends, patterns, outliers, and anomalies.
  • Reporting and Visualization: Prepare reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate findings, trends, and insights derived from data analysis. Present these reports to stakeholders such as finance teams, management, and other relevant parties.
  • Data Integrity: Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis.
  • Process Improvement: Prepare recommendations for efficiency and improvements to existing processes.
  • Data Accuracy: Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across different systems and sources.
  • Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization within the AP, AR, and accounting functions based on data analysis results.
  • Business Requirements: Interpret business requirements and perform analysis to support strategic and tactical objectives.
  • Data Acquisition: Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases.
  • Customer Management: Manage and maintain records of business terms of each customer. Ensure customer profile on system is up to date and accurate.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including finance, accounting, IT, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements, gather feedback, and implement data-driven solutions.
  • Internal Relationships: Build strong and influential internal relationships to help ensure business objectives are being met.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business analytics, statistics, mathematics, computer science, or a related field is often required.
  • 2+ years of experience in technology, data analytics, or a related field.
  • Experience in the Logistics/Transportation or Supply Chain industries is an asset.
  • Professional experience with reporting packages (Power BI, Tableau, Matillion, etc.), databases, and general programming languages.
  • Professional experience in data mining, cleaning, and segmentation is an asset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding operational environment, sometimes without detailed direction.
  • Strong attention to details and ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills and strong interpersonal and customer relation skills.
  • Ability to analyze financial data, identify patterns, trends, and discrepancies.
  • Ability to work efficiently and manage deadlines in a fast-paced business environment.
