Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Analyst to join our team based in Brampton. As a Data Analyst, you will work closely with our IT Development team to gather, organize, and analyze data from various sources, identifying areas of opportunity and supporting business decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Analysis and Insights
    • Gather and organize data from multiple load boards to identify trends and areas for improvement.
    • Analyze large datasets to recommend innovative improvement initiatives that drive business growth.
    • Perform ad-hoc analysis and communicate results in a clear and concise manner.
  • SQL Query Development and Automation
    • Build and troubleshoot advanced SQL queries in Snowflake to support data analysis and reporting.
    • Work with the engineering team to automate daily monitoring of models in production, ensuring timely issue resolution and improvement.
  • Freight Carrier and Lane Analysis
    • Analyze freight carriers and lanes based on capacity, utilization, insurance, price, safety, and service.
    • Identify areas for process improvement and optimization to enhance data quality and usability.
  • Data Integrity and Accuracy
    • Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis.
    • Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across different systems and sources.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Management
    • Clearly communicate design and development strategies to stakeholders, educating them as needed.
    • Prepare recommendations for efficiency and improvements to existing processes.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in technology, data analytics, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of Snowflake data cloud analytics experience, including practical hands-on use of the Snowflake Data Cloud.
  • College diploma or bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
  • General understanding of databases (MySQL, SQL Server & Snowflake).
  • Experience with Snowflake and Pyspark can be an asset.
  • Experience in the Logistics/Transportation or Supply Chain industries is an asset.
  • Professional experience with reporting packages (Power BI, Tableau, Matillion etc.), databases, and general programming languages.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding operational environment, sometimes without detailed direction.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills, as well as strong interpersonal and customer relation skills.
  • Ability to function independently with little or no supervision as well as function in a team environment.
