About the Role:
The Sales Manager will be responsible for:
- Achieving established room night, meeting room, and sales call quotas through proactive solicitation and negotiation with local accounts, group business, athletic, SMERF, government, union, tour, and leisure opportunities.
- Developing new customer partnerships and nurturing existing relationships to drive revenue growth and customer satisfaction.
- Coordinating the execution of business with other departments to ensure seamless delivery of services and products.
- Assisting in booking and finalizing catering contracts.
- Proactively working with hotel brand sales colleagues to increase account share.
- Maintaining accurate client files, databases, and tracking systems.
- Researching markets to identify potential sources of business and increase market share.
- Staying up-to-date with competitor and industry trends to inform sales strategies.
- Ensuring excellent lines of communication interdepartmentally.
- Attending related tradeshows and conducting sales trips as required.
- Conducting site tours for clients.
- Participating in the weekly Manager on Duty program.
About You:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced sales professional with a strong understanding of hotel operations and a passion for the industry. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of hotel sales management experience, with a proven track record of achieving revenue growth and customer satisfaction goals. Hilton and Choice brand experience, along with experience with Delphi, is an asset. The successful candidate will be an aggressive self-starter with strong ability to build rapport with guests and potential clients, self-motivated, decisive, responsible, and driven to achieve goals. Strong interpersonal skills, exceptional oral and written communication skills, and excellent selling, relationship building, and organizational skills are essential. The ability to meet both short-term and long-term business goals, effective decision-making skills, and proven problem-solving skills are also required. Experience in using sales, catering, and PMS systems, as well as working knowledge of Microsoft Office, is an asset. The ability to work flexible hours and meet the demands of the changing environment is also essential.
