Teaching Opportunity in French as a Second Language

Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington Catholic District School Board is seeking a qualified Occasional French Teacher to join our team in partnership with Queen's University's French as a Second Language Teaching Program.

About the Program

The Primary Junior French as a Second Language Multi-Session (FSLM) Program is a 6-term program that spans 24 months, with a start in May. The program is delivered in a blended format of on and off-campus sessions and runs throughout the year.

Requirements
  • Acceptable undergraduate degree (minimum 3-year General degree)
  • Preference given to applicants with a 4-year Honours undergraduate degree
  • Meet at least one of the language requirements established by Queen's University:
    • 5.0 full-year undergraduate courses in French or completion of a degree in the French language
    • A French Bilingual/Immersion/Extended Certificate and original transcript
    • Diplôme approfondi de langue française (DALF) with an overall classification of C1 (Advanced 1)
    • Diplôme d'études en langue française (DELF) with an overall classification of B1 (Intermediate 1)
    • Test de connaissance du français (TCF) with a score of C1 (Advanced 1 in all four modalities)
    • Test d'évaluation de français (TEF) with a score of C1 (Advanced 1 in all four modalities)

Successful candidates will be provided with a Long Term Occasional Assignment in a French position in one of our elementary schools for the 25/26 school year.
