About the Role

Cygnus Design Group, a leading wayfinding and environmental graphic design firm, is seeking a skilled Architectural Technologist to support the planning and development of wayfinding programs within Revit and assist with detailing signage fabrication drawings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Wayfinding Program Development: Prepare family content, location plans, and message schedules primarily using Revit.
  • Revit Model Management: Track changes and audit the Revit model on an ongoing basis, updating sign locations, room numbering, and other wayfinding-related data as needed.
  • Signage Fabrication Drawings: Develop signage fabrication drawings in collaboration with the design team.
  • Quality Control and Assurance: Conduct specification drawing quality control, shop drawing reviews, attend site meetings, and perform thorough deficiency assessments.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Education: Architectural Technologist Diploma or related discipline from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Experience: 3-5 years related experience.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in Healthcare and the public sector is an asset.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, proven ability to manage and deliver projects efficiently independently and within a team setting.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, proficiency with Mac OS & Google Suite tools, familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of signage and wayfinding best practices, working knowledge and understanding of millwork details.
  • Experience: Proven experience in contributing to wayfinding and experiential graphic design projects for municipalities, hospitals, and large-scale projects with a dedicated role supporting projects in the healthcare sector.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary: $60,000 - $75,000 CAD (commensurate with experience).
  • Benefits: Supplementary health and dental benefits after a 3-month probationary period.
