Key Responsibilities of a Commercial HVAC Solutions Engineer:

The Commercial HVAC Solutions Engineer is tasked with the promotion and sale of industrial-grade heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems (HVAC) to commercial clients, along with service agreements. A significant aspect of this role involves identifying optimal equipment output and efficiency to align with the specifications of various buildings and interior environments.

These engineers play a crucial role in ensuring the provision of effective climate control and ventilation systems tailored to specific settings, while also avoiding unnecessary cost overruns for clients or contractors. It is essential that the system recommendations fulfill the requirements of the building.

Typically, Commercial HVAC Solutions Engineers collaborate with construction managers or general contractors, whether for new commercial constructions or renovations. The contractor will outline the design specifications and expected climate requirements, subsequently seeking competitive bids from the sales engineer for equipment and installation. The engineer will employ a range of complex calculations related to airflow and aerodynamics to determine the most suitable match.

In conducting these calculations, the Commercial HVAC Solutions Engineer will consider not only the primary machinery, such as air conditioners, heat pumps, chillers, and exhaust systems, but also the strategic placement of ductwork, blowers, vents, and factors like compressor capacity and condenser specifications to achieve the desired climate conditions as defined by the designers.

Qualifications for the Commercial HVAC Solutions Engineer:

  • Establish and nurture strong customer relationships to enhance the adoption of HVAC solutions.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in sales, particularly in contracts and agreements.
  • Deliver tailored solutions and designs that meet customer specifications.
  • Develop relationships and create a loyal customer network to drive market penetration.
  • Prepare detailed proposals based on the technical specifications and requirements of projects.
  • Experience in HVAC, controls, industrial applications, and fabrication is advantageous, particularly with a commercial background.
