Location: Toronto, ON

Position Overview:

The Associate will operate from our Toronto office, reporting to the Practice Lead of the Remediation Group. This role involves collaboration on projects related to environmental health and safety, focusing on indoor environments and safety assessments. The Associate will engage in tasks such as environmental site evaluations, due diligence, and legal matters concerning environmental practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance technical skills through professional development and active project involvement.
  • Oversee client service timelines, budgeting, and invoicing, adhering to best practices.
  • Establish a professional presence through publications and client interactions.
  • Develop independence in client communications and project management.
  • Conduct site assessments and effectively communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with team members across various disciplines.
  • Engage in marketing initiatives and contribute to market understanding.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports based on thorough investigations.
  • Ensure proper operation and calibration of relevant systems and equipment.
  • Analyze laboratory results and work towards technical independence in assessments.

Expectations:

  • Allocate approximately 70% of time to client projects.
  • Devote around 10% of time to marketing and industry engagement.
  • Spend about 20% of time on professional growth activities.

Qualifications:

  • Two to five years of experience in relevant field or construction settings.
  • Strong foundation in engineering or scientific principles, particularly in environmental assessments.
  • Familiarity with regulations concerning indoor air quality and hazardous materials.
  • Potential for future certification in relevant professional designations.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.
  • Proficiency in engineering and project management software is an asset.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both English and French is advantageous.
