As NAIT continues to expand its student population and excel in practical education, we are seeking dedicated and skilled professionals to inspire and educate both current and future industry leaders. Our Crane & Hoist Equipment Operator programs equip students with the necessary skills to operate various types of cranes and boom trucks, along with advanced rigging techniques for diverse loads. We are currently looking for enthusiastic instructors for our Crane & Hoist Equipment Operator programs at the Spruce Grove Campus. Ideal candidates will be dynamic leaders, committed to fostering student success, and possess exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging learning outcomes and activities in classroom, lab, and industry environments.
  • Contribute to curriculum design, program evaluations, and course assessments.
  • Facilitate effective learning by employing instructional strategies that promote efficient delivery of course content.
  • Oversee instructional delivery and cultivate a safe and productive learning atmosphere.
  • Create assessment tools to evaluate student progress and maintain accurate records.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and support to students to enhance their success and retention.
  • Address student concerns and issues promptly.
  • Utilize appropriate educational technologies for presentations and program promotions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate maintenance of program and student records.
  • Maintain professional and ethical relationships with students, colleagues, and industry partners.
  • Actively engage in NAIT's Strategic and Academic Plans as outlined by the institution.
  • Use regular student feedback to identify and implement instructional improvements.
  • Enhance instructional quality through participation in professional development activities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine desire to support student achievement.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Completion of the Crane and Hoist Equipment Operator Alberta Journeyperson certificate or equivalent, with Inter-Provincial Red Seal being an asset.
  • A minimum of 5 years of recent industry experience post-Journeyperson certification is preferred.
  • Previous teaching experience is an asset.

Compensation:

Salary will be commensurate with education and experience, accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package. The instructor salary grid starts at $65, with an annual salary of $113,452. New hires typically start around $78, with an average annual salary of $85,889, based on qualifications and experience, with room for negotiation.
