Key Responsibilities Include:
- Providing high-quality, individualized care to clients
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care plans
- Performing essential administrative tasks, including documentation
- Conducting thorough assessments of client needs
- Ensuring accurate and timely record-keeping for clients and staff
- Addressing mental health and social concerns, including client advocacy and tailored communication
- Managing complaints and concerns, ensuring proper follow-up and documentation of incidents
- Building strong relationships with clients and their families
- Organizing and executing work in a safe and efficient manner
- Maintaining a secure environment for both clients and staff
- Documenting patients' medical histories and vital signs
- Monitoring and reporting changes in patients' health status
- Adjusting treatment plans based on patient responses and conditions
- Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for residents
- Keeping clinical skills up-to-date and pursuing learning opportunities
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Registered Nurse designation in the Province of Nova Scotia
- At least 6 months of relevant experience, preferably in long-term care settings
- Strong clinical, communication, organizational, and interpersonal abilities
- Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills, with experience in group dynamics and supervision
- A reliable attendance record
- Knowledge of proper body mechanics
- Initiative and the ability to work autonomously
- Familiarity with a Person-Centered Care approach
- Ability to function effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Current CPR certification
- First Aid certification
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) training is a plus
