About the Role

SOCAN is seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join our Data Strategy and Analytics team. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting, modeling, analyzing, and visualizing data to enable business strategy and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work directly with business users and subject matter experts to document reporting requirements, understand business processes, and how they affect data.
  • Collaborate with developers to design models and datasets within our cloud data lakehouse environment.
  • Communicate insights and recommendations to executive leaders by creating clear and concise visual reports and presentations.
  • Contribute to large corporate projects and initiatives that involve data analytics and reporting.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and data-driven decision-making, while continuously monitoring data quality and integrity.
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and best practices in data analysis and business intelligence.
Requirements
  • 2-4 years of working experience in a similar role.
  • Completion of a post-secondary degree, preferably in Finance, Economics, Business, or a STEM field.
  • Strong quantitative skills with the ability to analyze large data sets, while keeping the big picture in mind.
  • Proficiency performing data analysis using SQL, Python, or PySpark.
  • Demonstrated experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Previous experience leveraging cloud Data Lakehouse's to build scalable analytical models (i.e. Databricks, Snowflake).
  • Strong communicator, with a proven ability to tackle loosely defined problems.
  • Fluency in French an asset.
