Position Overview
Descartes is seeking a proficient Back-End Developer to enhance our agile mobile communication software development team. The Descartes wGLN is a cloud-based distributed backend SaaS solution that facilitates the business logic required to standardize and oversee millions of daily near real-time transactions across our various mobile and dispatching solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Contribute to the technical vision of the wGLN backend systems.
• Document requirements and issues effectively.
• Develop and execute unit tests and participate in peer code reviews.
• Identify and evaluate complex issues, proposing suitable solutions.
• Adhere to software development processes and policies set by the management team.
• Engage in software release activities.
• Collaborate with colleagues to facilitate the development of large, intricate projects as needed.
• Stay updated on coding and technological advancements that may impact your work.
• Streamline and automate our development processes.
Qualifications
• A university degree or college diploma in software development or equivalent experience.
• Strong understanding of agile methodologies.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with C#, .NET, and SQL.
• Proficient in GIT version control.
• Experience with .NET Entity Framework.
• Familiarity with microservice architecture.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, including:
o Setting up a Docker environment.
o Configuring MS DevOps Pipeline workflows using YAML.
• Additional knowledge in one or more of the following is advantageous:
o MSSQL or similar databases.
o .NET Core 8, MQTT, RabbitMQ.
o AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
o New Relic instrumentation.
o Graylog.
Work Environment
This position offers a hybrid work model, requiring occasional in-office attendance.
