As a Lead Technical Artist at Ubisoft Entertainment, you will possess a comprehensive understanding of our technological capabilities, limitations, and potential advancements, while maintaining a holistic view of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert guidance, tools, and support to ensure the success of the game and its development team.
- Evaluate both quantifiable metrics such as rendering quality, performance, and memory usage, alongside qualitative aspects like timing and project momentum.
- Engage in strategic planning and tactical execution, balancing immediate needs with long-term objectives while considering the future implications of your decisions.
- Collaborate with core team members to establish the overarching vision and assess technical feasibility.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to the engine, data, and features.
- Analyze existing tools and design custom solutions to enhance art pipelines and workflows, ensuring alignment with the project's vision.
- Conduct meetings with technical artists and assistant technical art directors to share updates, enforce standards, set benchmarks, and provide constructive feedback.
- Resolve complex technical issues and approve specifications.
- Prepare post-mortem analyses and recommend improvements for the integration of graphic data.
- Participate in recruitment efforts to build and nurture the technical art team.
Qualifications:
- Experience in art, technical art, programming, or related fields, along with leadership experience.
- Familiarity with bug tracking software (e.g., Jira) and version control systems.
- Strong critical thinking, time management, and organizational skills.
- A detailed CV showcasing your education, experience, skills, and projects completed.
