Position OverviewThe RI-MUHC is a prestigious biomedical and clinical research facility located in Montreal, Quebec, serving as the research division of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) and affiliated with McGill University's Faculty of Medicine. Our work is partially supported by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).
Project FocusThis research role involves a project centered on Multimodal AI aimed at predicting responses and survival rates in bladder cancer patients undergoing organ preservation treatments. The selected candidate will be responsible for curating a comprehensive dataset and developing a predictive model to identify patients likely to achieve complete responses following concurrent chemoradiation. The dataset encompasses clinical information, proteomic and genomic data, along with histopathology images.
Key Responsibilities- Curate and manage the collected dataset
- Conduct data preprocessing
- Perform feature selection and engineering
- Generate data representations from histopathology slides
- Active participation in weekly progress meetings
- Success will be evaluated based on:
- Completion of dataset curation and preprocessing suitable for machine learning algorithms
- Effective data representation of histopathology slides
A Bachelor's Degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field with a focus on machine learning is required. Previous experience in machine learning is essential.
Additional Requirements- Ability to work autonomously or collaboratively with minimal supervision
- Strong understanding of machine learning principles; knowledge of deep learning is advantageous
This is a temporary, full-time position.
CompensationSalary will be commensurate with education and experience.
Work ScheduleStandard office hours are required.
